Fatma KARAKÜLAH is a qualified Turkish lawyer, registered with the Istanbul Bar Association since 2010. In addition to her legal practice, she has been serving as a mediator in legal disputes since 2023 and became a trademark attorney in 2024. She is also a sworn translator with proficiency in English.
She has an LL.M. degree in International Business Law from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). As part of her academic pursuits, she authored her LL.M. thesis on "Compulsory License in Pharmaceuticals According to Turkish and Swiss Patent Law." This research kept her well-informed on the latest developments in the pharmaceutical sector through an in-depth comparison between Swiss and Turkish law. Her LL.M. program also equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of subjects such as anti-corruption measures, trade compliance, global risk regulations, corporate governance, international dispute resolution, competition law, compliance, contracts and EU law.
She earned her LL.B. degree from the University of Istanbul in 2009, graduating 13th in her class.
As a lawyer and mediator, she has amassed significant expertise in various legal areas, including contract law, legal consultancy, compliance-related matters, and litigation procedures.
Her specialization extends to diverse sectors, notably telecommunications, construction, energy, manufacturing, hotel management, media, e-commerce, and transportation.
As a trademark attorney, she is following up all the proceedings before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office related to trademark, industrial design and geographical indication.
Her passion lies in providing legal services in intellectual property, compliance, commercial law, labor law, and data protection law, both at the national (Turkish) and international levels, with a particular focus on the European Union, Switzerland, and the MENA region.
Fatma Karakülah has further expanded her knowledge by completing various seminars & certificate programs in compliance, anti-money laundering regulations, telecommunications law, construction law, cyber law, intellectual property law, competition law, and startup law.
For more than a decade, she has been actively engaged in drafting various types of contracts, handling litigation processes and providing various legal services.
